INTRODUCTION TO THE PROGRAM

  • DRAWING AS MEDITATION AND SILK PAINTING

Instructor: Móni Molnár

Web: http://silkbymomo.com

Description:

Drawing is one of the most ancient self expressing tool. During drawing we give out all important thoughts that is working in us. The final pieces are often messages from the deeper inner us. While drawing we connect to our unconsciousness. Motifs and shapes on the paper can tell a lot about the emotional state and the personality. If we learn to read from these drawings, we can know and accept ourselves.

Drawing meditation is a great activity for adults to experience these things consciously while developing themselves. The same time without any previous knowledge of drawing the participants create beautiful art works.

  • DAY: MONDAY

Drawing meditation Black & White

/5 hours long workshop with half an hour break for lunch/

As a ‘warm up’ we draw out our emotions and then embed ourselves in the pattern layout. Working on a custom pattern based drawing of your own without any prior plans develops creative thinking skills and increases your sense of freedom. The finished drawings give you a sense of success, destroying your negative beliefs about drawing, so participation in your work has a self-confidence boosting effect.

During carefree drawing you become a kind of meditative, relaxed state of mind, and such a relaxed state has a number of positive physiological effects: improves oxygen supply, decreases metabolism and lactic acidity, improves blood flow to organs, creates endorphin, which is the happiness hormone.

  • DAY: TUESDAY

Drawing meditation 3D & Color:

/5 hours long workshop with half an hour break for lunch

Making drawings on a colorful paper with graphite pencils. Using basic shadows and motifs what creates a plastic impression, the optical illusion of the third dimension, that the drawing is coming out from the paper. Participants learn how to express emotions with colors and then how to create plastic shadows with colorful pencils. As final exercise drawing a personal mandala using self powering colors.
